James Ellsworth says:

This is one of my favorite episodes recently: two knowledgeable car guys saying lesser-known but not esoteric things about an interesting car. I never get used to the 'skinny tires' on cars from this period. With the engine hanging behind the axle I would have liked to hear more from them about handling. The Porsche steering wheel may be highly collectible but it looks way out of place with this interior.

Jono Edwards says:

Dak Dak!
Great stuff, Beauty Mate.

Adam Badri says:

That whole dashboard looks different from vws of that era. Even the ignition switch is unusual!!

Saud Dowaihy says:

I saw jay live a few weeks back, it was a hilarious show!! Also I agree with jay about how the wider windshields are better.

Martin Brown says:

the back of the cars shape , from the angled rear window on , looks like it should have been the front of the car

hadji annihilator says:

Nice skinny jeans faggot

Egis Petronis says:

if no logo super car change to …..and price 0000

Egis Petronis says:

I like this car !

Carat Cranker says:

There is also a BIG Skoda look to this abortion.

justas525 says:

Jay you should review a Volkswagen Rabbit, they are great little cars.

For REAL says:

It looks A LOT like a Corvair.

Carlos V says:

My pops imported a brand new, "used" one of these in '62. This was well before I won the medal round swim event of life kids. So here is this little kraut-wagen sitting in the garage next to his Willys Coup in the garage mind you..'till us kids came around. He sells the Willys Being a responsible adult he keeps the 'dub as his daily driver (until he retired) But he buys a new SS Chevelle 396 4-speed got to love him!
Anyway back to the VW, as my dad put it " there's something about that Design". He liked to dart in and out of traffiic or over the mountains to coast. I learned to drive in this car (what about the Chevelle you ask…dad was cool not stupid)As Jay said it was very light steering.
I have seen only three of these in person a green white top un molested car and another modded Tangerine orange and white top. DadsIt was Teal Blue with the white roof. The white interior with teal accents.was a lot nicer than my best friends dads oval window Beatle. The Blaupunk had white buttons and knobs with that crackle finish, kind of like what you see on old China Like Jay said this stereo was the latest back when new, AM/FM/marine band. We'd listen to the aircraft and tower communications while driving past the airport. The steering wheel was white with that same crackle finish a chrome accent arch I believe it was the horn. The center button had the Wolfsburg crest.
Visibility was great glass everywhere. Not a single blind spot. Man I wish dad had those Venetian blinds…you'd think being squeezed in that back seat was bad enough…you baked under that rear glass. The only saving grace back there was the rear quarter windows popped out.
